Benjamin Banks was an English maker active in the late 1700s in Salisbury. His work takes much inspiration from Amati. He is particularly known for his cellos, but his instruments are all excellent examples of English instruments of the time.
This viola has a rich and full sound and is comfortable to play. It has a beautiful dark finish and is in excellent condition.
