Tulsa Youth Symphony- For more than a half century, the Tulsa Youth Symphony has been bringing together the best of the best talent from across Northeastern Oklahoma. Nurtured and trained by conductors of national caliber, these students learn to collaborate and produce music that will absolutely astound you.
TYS’s Prestige Performance Series is a high-level accelerated weekend program open to all Northeast Oklahoma student musicians that provides specialized coaching, guest conductors, and concentrated ensemble rehearsals in a professional, energetic setting. The musicians’ hard work culminates in a performance for their families and the community. This rigorous single day series provides a unique opportunity for area students to learn new skills, prepare for advanced auditions, and expand their imaginations, all without a prohibitive time commitment.
Harmony Project Tulsa - A music-based mentoring program that provides daily academic tutoring, instruments, and music lessons to local at-risk students. It is one of seven affiliates of Harmony Project of Los Angeles, which has been recognized as one of the most effective arts-based youth intervention programs in the nation. Currently offering after school instruction for Pre-K - 6th grade students for violin or cello lessons and academic tutoring.
Barthelmes Conservatory- Their mission is to build communities through equity and excellence in music education. The BART is especially proud of its faculty who represent the finest performing and teaching musicians in the Tulsa area. Many are faculty members at the University of Tulsa and Oral Roberts University and featured players in the Tulsa Symphony Orchestra, Signature Symphony, and Tulsa Ballet and Opera Orchestras. 918-794-0330
Tulsa Honor Orchestra- Over 35th year of providing Suzuki based string instruction to youth string players, as well as providing numerous fantastic performance opportunities. THO music directors are Jody Naifeh and Karen Naifeh Harmon.
Owasso Youth Orchestra- OYO was formed in 2001 to increase education and performance opportunities for young musicians and to bring an expanded repertoire of symphonic music to the Owasso and surrounding communities. Members of the orchestra range from ages 8to18, representing private, public and home school students. OYO allows young musicians to increase confidence and skillas they learn to play music in a group setting from professionally trained musicians, Melody Garrett and Brandy Gordon. owassoyouthorchestra@gmail.com 918-609-5537
