Violin bow by Jean-Joseph Martin c. 1880

Martin came to prominence when he began working for Jean-Baptiste Vuillaume in Paris. Later, opening his own shop in Mirecourt, he produced many bows for the Mennesson and Thibouville-Lamy firms, among others. One of his more well known assistants being Joseph Arthur Vigneron. This exquisite example of Martin’s work is from his later period.

This fine violin bow comes with a certificate of authenticity from bow expert Jean-Francois Raffin, Paris, France. The frog and stick are in excellent condition and is authentic in all it’s main parts.
