A graduate of the North Bennet Street School in Boston, Jacob Brillhart studied violin making under the master maker Roman Barnas. Jacob Brillhart builds violin family instruments that are both exciting to play, yet are objects of sculptural beauty. From his shop in Vermont, Brillhart builds violins and violas by hand with carefully-selected European tonewood. His instruments possess a strong and powerful voice all while displaying intricate and delicate craftsmanship. This Del Gesu model is an exceptional example of Brillhart's work and has a particularly balanced tone with incredible depth and clarity.
